The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside the still waters.

He restores my soul...

WHAT DOES HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY DO?

Founded in 1960, Hospital Chaplaincy Service now ministers to more than 15,000 terminally ill, elderly, and confined residents within nearly 200 nursing, assisted housing and health care facilities.

A truly unique organization, HCS services include:

   Amputee Boots, Bibs, Conversation Cards,

   Elbow Warmers, Fingerless Gloves, Hand

   Protectors, Lap Robes, Pillows, Shawls,

   Vests (for men), as well as many, many other

   items.

Each year more than 90,000 individual, carefully selected giant print Scripture portions are given to residents...

HCS is responsible for more than 2.500 chapel services each year.  Residents love to share in the singing of familiar songs and the reading of Scriptures that they love and often know by heart.  Since they cannot go out to church services, we bring the services to them...

PRAYER REQUESTS- PLEASE PRAY:

Pat Leavitt, Director of the Mission Projects Department,  Hattie Stickney, the office manager and some of the regular volunteers who recently were working on topical Conversation Cards which are used to stimulate memory, cognitive function, dialogue, and interaction. About 93,000 of these go out annually, along with a set of 12-20 questions for each individual topic. The cards are used by the activity department with groups or individuals.
