This past year, we reflected upon “15 Prayers for 2015”.  I asked the question:  “What are 15 prayers that might reflect your personal relationship with the Lord?  What areas of your personal, spiritual and prayer life are in need?”  It was meant to fortify our resolve to focus upon the Lord and His will more in our personal lives.  My prayer is that we will not discard that list, but continue to incorporate it into our Christian walk.

 As we begin 2016, I would like us to consider the noun form of the word- purpose- “The reason for which something is done or created, or for which something exists”.  For anyone who has asked Jesus Christ to be their Savior, let us each ask ourselves the following question:  “What purpose do I see in my life presently?”  What can others see in me that would exhibit a life of purpose in Jesus Christ?  What areas of my life are in need?  What might be hindering me? 

Feel free to use this list, or use it as a guide to develop your own list.  Like the “15 Prayers”, your list (and mine) will probably adjust throughout the year. 

As we consider “Purpose-filled Prayers”, may we reflect upon the words of II Timothy 1:9 (nkjv)…

{God} who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began...
